Training Pharmacists for a Bright Future... The practice of pharmacy is continually changing; therefore it is our responsibility to educate students not just for today's activities, but to prepare them to successfully compete in an evolving practice environment. Pharmacists routinely use computers to facilitate the dispensing of medications. In the near future, the combination of computers and communications will provide the ability to access medical records and drug information systems forever changing the delivery of pharmacy services. Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (CPHS) provides its incoming P-1 students with laptop computers and P-4 students with PDA's, which are equipped with the software and programming components our faculty consider necessary to address these enhanced delivery needs. This service is provided free to our students.

CPHS also offers a unique learning environment where Doctor of Pharmacy students may concurrently pursue an additional master's degree. Students may choose to complete a master's in Business Administration, Clinical Research, or Pharmaceutical Sciences while obtaining their Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Students that wish to enhance their overall educational experience may choose to take electives from these areas. However, students who elect to participate in these courses gain a tremendous advantage by enhancing their education and differentiating themselves early in their careers.

To better serve patients, it is critical that pharmacists apply Christian principles, i.e., empathy, compassion, and understanding into their practice. We foster these attitudes by incorporating each element into the college's service and instructional training. As an added component of their education students have the opportunity to take a pharmacy missions elective and participate in a mission trip that can serve as a fourth year elective rotation.

I encourage you to peruse our website to learn more about CPHS and its commitment to training pharmacists for a bright future.
